**Introduction**:
ICES is seeking a Research Project Manager to join our Data and Analytic Services (DAS) team. The Research Project Manager reports to the Director, DAS and works closely and collaboratively with the Indigenous Portfolio Operational Lead, Indigenous Portfolio Core Team, and with the internal DAS team. This role supports the Indigenous Portfolio by helping to manage projects that are conducted with Indigenous partners. The Research Project Manager will collaborate with colleagues across the ICES network (Central and Sites).

The Research Project Manager will work collaboratively with the Indigenous Portfolio team including the Indigenous Project Navigator and Staff Scientist. They will be responsible for organizing and overseeing the portfolio of research projects, liaising with various stakeholders and funders, providing input into methodology when working in Indigenous health research, and managing budgets, timelines, contracts and deliverables.

**Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to**:

- General project and portfolio management, which will include:

- Monitoring project and portfolio timelines, risks and deliverables in collaboration with other team members;
- Managing project and portfolio budgets and allocation of funds, including:

- Liaising with the Finance and Procurement departments;
- Liaising with Privacy and Legal department (and other departments as needed) in support of timely project approvals and data transfers;
- Liaising with Legal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely execution of contracts
- Preparing documentation for reporting at all levels (Scientific Advisory Committee, Board of Directors, ICES Executive, Ministry and other funders etc.);
- Chairing weekly Operational meetings to ensure cross-team communication and timely resolution of issues/questions.
- Responsible for initiating the Applied Health Research Question (AHRQ) process for Indigenous-driven projects, including chairing associated adjudication meetings and liaising with the DAS AHRQ management team;
- Interface and manage relationship-building efforts with internal and external stakeholders in support of the Indigenous Health portfolio such as ICES researchers, First Nations, Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous partners, external organizations supporting Indigenous Health, committees and team meetings;
- Lead the execution of the ICES Indigenous Health Data Training Program, contributing to the development of program plans and training materials, as well as coordinating with speakers and partners/participants;
- Work closely with the ICES Project Navigator and Staff Scientist to ensure Indigenous research and analytic projects are conducted in ways that align with Indigenous data governance and partnership agreements;
- Work closely with the Indigenous Operations Lead and Core Team to develop internal policies, procedures and guidelines that better align with ICES’ guiding principles for working with Indigenous partners;
- Attend external stakeholder meetings, where needed, including project collaborations, consultation and knowledge translation related to Indigenous research;
- Support other activities of the Core Team, which may include:

- Assisting in grant/project submissions including budget preparation;
- Assisting with the preparation of and ensuring the accurate completion of project documentation;
- Assisting with sharing project summaries, presentations or reports with external partners;
- Assisting with events organized by Indigenous Portfolio.
- Contribute to the writing and copy editing and coordinate the preparation of reports / documentation in collaboration with research project teams and/or the Core Team;
- Work effectively and efficiently according to ICES policies, procedures, standards, workflow processes, documents and requirements _(e.g., complete program and project documentation according to ICES standards and guidelines)_;
