**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Helper supports HOME Moving and Delivery services by assisting with the loading, unloading, transportation, and safe handling of furniture and other items. The Helper works closely with the driver and team members to ensure efficient and respectful service delivery.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assists with the safe loading and unloading of furniture, boxes, and materials.
- Uses proper equipment (dollies, straps, blankets, etc.) to move items safely and prevent damage.
- Follows safety procedures for lifting, carrying, and transporting items.
- Helps secure items in the truck for safe transport.
- Communicates clearly with the driver and other team members to coordinate tasks.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Reports any damages or concerns to the driver or leadership promptly.
- Treats clients and their belongings with respect and care.
- Checks in with leadership as directed for updates and instructions.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Criminal Record Check
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting 50+ pounds
- Availability for casual, on-call shifts
- Punctual and dependable

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Extensive physical activity, including lifting, pushing or pulling objects over 50 pounds
- Work environment may include exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions
- Regular exposure to outdoor elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noise

Paid peer positions are responsible for payment of all taxes arising out of the activities in connection with this Agreement, including federal and provincial income taxes, social, unemployment insurance taxes, and any other taxes or business license fees as required. The Lookout Housing and Health Society shall not be responsible for withholding any income or employment taxes whatsoever on behalf of the peer. To address any questions or concerns you have related to applicable taxes, Lookout will provide referrals to tax services as requested.
