**JOB SUMMARY**

The Die Cutting Operator is responsible for the safe set up and operation of the die cutting equipment within the department. The individual ensures conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards. Meets or exceeds production, quality and efficiency requirements at all times.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- General knowledge and understanding of die cutting processes and equipment in the printing industries.
- Ability to read job dockets to determine setup specifications and instructions.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
- Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position and department.
- Perform routine adjustments during the press run and maintain production throughout the run
- Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
- Complete preventative maintenance work on equipment as per schedule.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience running board stock and paper on flatbed die cutters required, along with the ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must pass color vision test and color hue.
- A solid understanding of mechanical concepts and must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Familiar with tooling.
- A keen appreciation for quality work.
- Able to work with minimum supervision in a team-based environment.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Stand up to 12 hours per day.
- Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift.
- Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation.
- Work at and/or below shoulder level.
- See fine detail in printed product along with checking for colour accuracy.
