What A Bagel - St Clair
Baking bagels breads and pastries made from scratch in house daily
What a Bagel 827 St. Clair Ave. W is looking for a skilled pastry chef to prepare different types of bread, bagels, and a wide range of pastries, cookies, etcetera. To be successful in this role, prior work experience is preferred. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Opening the bakery early in the morning mixing dough, cleaning kitchen equipment and tools at shift end, weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare dough, baking off a variety of bagels, breads, pastries, etc., adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking, recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts), track food supplies and place orders as needed
**Requirements**:
Experience as a Baker/Pastry Chef, familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, proofers, understanding of food safety practices, excellent time-management skills, ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment, team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
