**Job Summary**
- The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Service Strategy and Financial Aid, the Assistant Registrar, Financial Aid is responsible for the development, organization and administration of the university financial aid programs. They are responsible for the development of new financial need programs in response to the changing financial situation of the Dalhousie student population, ensuring that Dalhousie is compliant with provincial/state and federal policy and regulations in relation to provincial, federal and international student loan programs and ensuring that accurate information is communicated to all current and prospective Dalhousie students.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Acts as the main institutional resource on all matters relating to student financial aid, providing guidance, support and advice to all offices that work with students in financial need.
- Plans, implements and administers needs-based awards, including the Undergraduate Bursary and Temporary Loan Programs.
- Coordinates administration of Canadian government student loan program.
- Advises prospective and current students on financial aid available to students, including government student loan programs, institutional programs and private funding options.
**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree with a minimum of five years’ related experience in a university environment focused on student financial assistance or enrolment management (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Thorough knowledge of budgeting processes, provincial and federal student loan and bursary policies and procedures.
- Experience with policy development and review with government organizations.
- Proven communication (verbal and written) as well as presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage a heavy workload and meet deadlines.
**Assets**
