**We are currently seeking a hardworking, professional, flexible and positive full time/part time Housekeeper who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty and takes pride in the beauty and upkeep of the space that they work in to join our team. Adaptability and flexibility are key. Positions available day shift and night shift.**

The Housekeeper maintains high standards of cleanliness throughout the retirement residence by cleaning and sanitizing resident suites and common areas.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Performs housekeeping tasks such as, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, sweeping, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing/disinfecting, washing floors; spot cleaning walls, windows, mirrors and doors between washing; dusting, washing, sanitizing/disinfecting furniture, shelves, woodwork, etc.; emptying wastebaskets, ashtrays and rearranging furniture; removing waste; daily cleaning and disinfecting of all bathroom floors, fixtures and walls; cleaning floors, fixtures and furnishings in utility rooms, kitchen, closets, etc.
- Responds to “emergency” or urgent housekeeping tasks immediately when necessary (e.g. resident spills or minor accidents).
- Retains and enhances culture and values in every interaction.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Experience**:

- One (1) year experience in a Housekeeping environment

**Knowledge**:

- General understanding of cleaning best practices and methods, chemicals and equipment used in cleaning
- Basic knowledge of legislative regulations and policies related to housekeeping

- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow oral and verbal instructions
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to treat residents with respect, dignity and care
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of resident information
- Ability to work in a flexible environment to meet the needs of the residents, including weekend and holiday coverage, as required

**Please note, employment with Serenity Retirement Residence will be contingent on receipt of a current Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening, Proof of COVID-19 Immunization.**

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
