Plains is looking for an experienced Pipeline Technician to work on our pipeline system in the Edmonton area. This position will provide support to operations and maintenance as well as ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures.
- Flexible and willing to work as both an operator and a maintenance person;
- Strong mechanical aptitude to perform minor maintenance duties;
- Ability to work efficiently independently or as a team member with mínimal supervision;
- Pipeline and Terminal operating experience, including pigging and gauging is preferred;
- Understanding of ground disturbance protocol, first calls, crossings and proximities;
- Line locating experience would be a definite asset;
- Possess excellent communicational skills;
- General computer knowledge with experience;
- Minimum Grade XII education with 3 - 5 years oilfield / pipeline experience preferred;
- Permanent residency within 100 KM of the Sherwood Park field office is a condition of employment;
- Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy is mandatory; and
- A valid Driver’s License is a required.
