**Job Summary**:
A key member for the Leadership team, the Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) functions as a leader and resource to clinical staff and program management with respect to addiction, mental health clinical practice promoting person-centered care within an inter-professional practice environment. Informed by current practice and research, the incumbent positively influences professional practice and clinical education internally and externally, demonstrating an understanding of cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency of informed treatment modalities.

The APC helps lead the development of AMHS-KFLA policies and procedures defining the intervention techniques and services to be used with clients, direct service staff and organizational leadership. The incumbent will provide leadership in promoting client flow within the agency’s stepped-care model and externally in the community. This includes maintaining and developing partnerships with community and hospital stakeholders to promote excellent care in the region.

Working from a client centred lens in supporting and leading AMHS-KFLA’s clinical practice, the following are highlights of duties and responsibilities:

- Planning and development of clinical strategy and programs, including support and leading implementation of changes as needed,
- Advising and supporting Clinical teams on practice and client services, including consultation both internally and externally, and clinical supervision as applicable,
- Managing and leading community of practice and other groups to foster philosophy of care and support safe and effective services that adhere to evidence informed practice,
- Member of the Leadership team with the duties and responsibilities that entails,
- Participation in the agency’s risk and quality improvement systems,
- Participation in external committees, working groups and advisory bodies in the KFLA community,
- Direct supervision of staff where assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing
- Active, unrestricted license to practice with the respective regulatory College.
- Five (5) years of recent related experience including progressive professional practice, education, research and leadership experience.
- Experience with inter-professional processes in the delivery of person-centered, including recovery oriented care.
- Experience and familiarity with professional standards of practice and with applicable legislation including, but not limited, Regulated Health Professions Act, Mental Health Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, and profession-specific acts.
- French Language proficiency considered an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated understanding of current and emerging methodologies/systems/frameworks particular to area of service in use in the health care sector
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Sound presentation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information
- Ability to lead and positively influence individuals and teams within a large organization
- Ability to identify and analyze situations and problems; finding viable solutions with consideration to total systems and strategies
- Ability to promote compliance with professional and ethical practices, accreditation standards, and applicable legislation internally and externally
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the use of client record or electronic record software systems (eg. EMHware).
