**LOCATION**:Various Adult Day Programs and Residential

**HOURS**:Casual On-Call

**START DATE**: As soon as possible

**_Job Summary: _**On both, an individual and group basis, the Community Inclusion Worker and Residential Worker support the quality of life for the persons we serve by ensuring that they meet their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs. The job holder is part of the team responsible for implementing all aspects of the resident and/or participant’s program, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy.

**_Education, Training and Experience_**
- CSW Certificate or equivalent education and experience preferred
- Experience in supporting individuals with disabilities in community
- Valid WCB approved First Aid and CPR certification
- Island Health approved Food Safety certification

**_Qualifications, _**_Skills and Abilities_**
- Knowledge of theory, values and practices in community living including support systems
- Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support and teach life skills to participants
- Ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team
- Ability to perform lifts and transfers of persons served
- Effective interpersonal communication skills

**_Advocacy_**
- To advocate for individuals and families so they obtain needed support
- To teach individuals and families self-advocacy skills
- To advocate for support and change within the systems that affect participants and their families

**_Personal Attributes_**
- Positive role model including modeling a healthy lifestyle
- Empathy, warmth, and understanding
- Ability to work effectively with families, staff, volunteers, and organizations
- Current, satisfactory criminal record search and driver’s abstract
- Class 5 BC driver’s license; own vehicle
- TB test (negative)
- Physician’s health reference
- Covid-19 immunization record (while mandate applies)

**_Please Note: _**
- _This position is open to all qualified individuals and requires Union membership_
- _Successful applicants must meet all hiring requirements to pass the three-month trial period_
- _Hiring requirements will be the responsibility of the applicant; however, Clements Centre will be offering a reimbursement of $150 toward these, once most requirements are completed _
