**POSITION TITLE: Strategic Account Manage**r**

**REPORTS TO: General Manager**

**Position Summary**

The Strategic Account Manger is responsible for developing external business relationships of the organization. They must identify business opportunities and build long-term relationships with prospective customers. The position will also evaluate the current performance of the business and find ways to help the business reach its full potential. The Manager will have oversight of all work scopes, influence strategy for pricing, and support strategy for service line implementation to ensure that Nortech maintains competitive advantage in the NDE marketplace.

The Strategic Account Manager shall possess team leadership, management and business administration capabilities and shall have good negotiation and communication skills.

**Responsibilities**
- Discovers and explores business opportunities. - research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
- Identifies market trends by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements with existing and new customers.
- Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships. This is achieved by seeking out the appropriate contact in an organization, generate leads by networking with prospective customers, meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone.
- Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and profitability.
- Evaluates options and resolves internal priorities.
- Make recommendations for equipment and training investments that best suit the needs identified from customers.
- Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures with existing company strategies and operations.
- Examines risks and growth potential for business opportunities identified.
- Estimates clients' needs and goals. Seeks to understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Enhances organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Discuss promotional strategies and activities with management.
- Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate.
- Support with rate sheet development and ensure implementation fosters good working relationships with the customer, and strong financial execution for Nortech.
- Review and audit work orders produced by technicians efficiently to ensure administration is able to bill customers in a timely manner and by the intended mechanism as quoted.
- Provide technical support to business development, sales and marketing initiatives of the company.
- Ensure that company activities comply to all required industrial and regulatory standards.
- Attend and effectively communicate Nortech business needs in customer requested meetings. Attend management and safety meetings.**Education and Experience**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- NDT Level II Certification in MT, UT, PT, RT and/or ET is an asset.
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures. Knowledge of NDT equipment.**Desired Skills and Abilities**

- Motivation for sales planning, selling to customer's needs and market knowledge.

- Adaptable to changing schedules based on customer demands.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify problems or potential problems and implement solutions.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the purpose of completing assigned tasks.
- Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and maintain effective working relations with a diverse work force.

**Physical Demands and Work Conditions**
- In office locations, the ability to work at a desk with extended periods being seated.
- From time to time a field walkdown to support acquisition of field data to accurate quote work may be required. These field walkdown activities may involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and walking to support gaining access to the locations that may be required to gain access to the equipment or work location.
