**The Role**

Fleming College Toronto seeks a dynamic and organized Placement Coordinator to join our Career Services team. Reporting to the Career Services Manager, the incumbent will oversee the successful placement of students in a work environment as required to fulfil program requirements. The Placement Coordinator will liaise with various stakeholders to monitor student placements, and provide ongoing student-focused support.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaise with course instructors, program managers, placement partners, and students to arrange and coordinate placement sites for all relevant cohorts and ensure program requirements for placements are being met.
- Conduct pre-placement meetings, presentations, and workshops for students to disseminate information about all placement requirements, procedures, and expectations.
- Monitor placements and provide ongoing student-focused support where necessary to ensure successful completion of placements.
- Take a leadership role in problem solving placement issues and responding to concerns between all participating parties.
- Liaise with program manager and placement staff to identify students who may require additional assessment and follow-up activities based on an extended absence from placement or other circumstances.
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, manage the collection, entry, and maintenance of all necessary placement data for program evaluation and assessment to ensure documentation is in accordance with program requirements.
- Collect feedback, evaluate, and report on placement experiences from students and placement agencies.
- Create, review, and update placement-related materials including handbooks, documents, guides, and other procedural materials.
- Build relationships with industry-relevant businesses and organizations to facilitate program placement requirements and job opportunities for students.
- Identify untapped opportunities to provide access to a greater range of placement settings, including rural and community placements.
- Provide ongoing career services support to students, including detailed information and individual guidance about non-academic requirements for placements.
- Perform other student service-related duties and tasks as assigned.

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree (4 year) in social work, health science, nursing, education, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in career services, job placement, health care or social services
- Demonstrated ability to use mediation and conflict resolution skills is required, high degree of diplomacy and problem solving
- Experience in an educational role supporting and guiding students/adult learners in a post-secondary environment is a strong asset.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with local partners
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer software
- Passion for helping individuals find meaningful employment opportunities
