**Job Overview**
The_ **Assistant Spa Manager **_plays a vital role in overseeing daily spa operations, including staff management, training, sales, customer service, and inventory within the spa’s retail boutique. You will be responsible for driving sales, achieving revenue targets, and leading a team to provide exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing guest communications and bookings to maximize revenue, while also working closely with the Spa Director on strategic business development.
This is a long-term position, ideal for someone who can commit to at least two years. With a training period of approximately six months, you will gradually take on more responsibilities, and there is ample opportunity to grow into a higher-level leadership role within the company.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Team Leadership & Development**: Recruit, train, schedule, and manage staff, ensuring performance evaluations are conducted regularly to maintain a high standard of service.
- **Human Resources Management**: Manage employee records, including employment contracts, onboarding, attendance, holiday and sick leave, and incident reports.
- **Guest Communication**: Oversee all guest communication channels, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of any guest concerns or complaints.
- **Booking Management**: Coordinate guest bookings using spa management software, optimizing the booking system to meet service sales targets and minimize scheduling gaps.
- **Retail & Inventory Management**: Manage retail inventory and provide regular product education to staff. Implement retail strategies aimed at increasing revenue and profitability.
- **Strategic Planning**: Collaborate with the Spa Director on growth initiatives, including e-commerce expansion, retail revenue strategies, and maximizing booking efficiency.
- **Financial Administration**: Manage budgets, monitor retail performance, and oversee the reconciliation of cash-outs, monthly reports, and room charge records.
- **Team Culture & Training**: Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring consistent treatment delivery according to spa procedures. Provide ongoing training and updates as needed.
- **Manager on Duty**: Act as the Manager on duty during the Spa Director’s absence, ensuring smooth daily operations.
**Experience & Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in retail management, hospitality leadership, or a customer service-oriented role.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on system and checklist management.
- Attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy in daily operations, staff coordination, and client experience.
- Clear, organized communication skills to ensure everyone is on the same page and aligned with team goals.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to stay self-motivated and work efficiently.
- Willingness to learn basic massage and facial techniques to effectively recruit and onboard new staff members.
- Passion for the wellness industry and a commitment to creating an exceptional guest experience.
- Experience in massage or beauty therapy is beneficial but not required.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and secured housing in Whistler _**(staff accommodation is not provided).**_
**Compensation Package**:
- Base salary: $48k - $50k (commensurate with experience and skill set)
