NRT is proud to ship its products across North America. As a **Human Resource/Health and Safety Assistant**, you will take pride in knowing you helped support and build our awesome team, that creates quality products that are enjoyed by customers internationally.

The HR/HS Assistant will be scheduled to work Monday-Friday between 8-4:30. Some flexibility may be required since we do operate 3 shifts
- days, afternoons, and midnights. _Safety Shoes are required when entering production._

**Your Responsibilities**:
The Human Resources/Health and Safety Assistant will be assisting the Human Resources/Health and Safety Manager on a daily basis. Each day is very different from the previous and brings lots of excitement. How does this look? You will be:
Health and Safety
- Investigates safety incidents, complete accident report forms, provide care to injured employees on sight or by taking them to the clinic
- Facilitate WSIB claims and return to work plans
- Participate in joint health and safety meetings, inspections, take meeting notes and completing inspection reports
- Report safety concerns to the appropriate department for corrective action
- Follow up on the completion and evaluation of the corrective action

Human Resources
- Full cycle recruiting - onboarding & offboarding processes
- Evaluating and updating current policies, procedures, job descriptions, job advertisements etc.
- Facilitating employee benefits program
- Administrative duties such as filing, data entry, maintaining employee files, managing shift reports, running errands, preparing new hire packages, photocopying etc.
- Assisting in the development, implementation and management of current and new programs and projects
- Attendance management
- Assisting employees with questions and concerns
- Providing or arranging and training to employees and managers

The range of activities is very vast in both HR and H&S. Other duties will be assigned as they arise. Flexibility and resilience are necessary.

**Your Qualifications**:

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and professional attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information and dealing with diverse personalities
- Human Resources or Health and Safety diploma or experience an asset
- Time-management skills are imperative
- Able to work as part of a team but also independently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation, excellent attendance
