**The Position**:
- As a member of the Human Resources team and reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture, the HRIS and compliance Specialist is responsible for a variety of reporting tasks and data processing related to the employment cycle of all staff. This role manages internal databases and serves as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees and external partners.
- The HRISand compliance Specialist will maintain internal databases, ensure accurate digital employee records, train users on HR systems, and oversee the efficient operation of our HR software. The specialist will also act as the key liaison between the HR and payroll departments.
- Key Responsibilities:_- Manage and supervise employee data throughout the employment lifecycle (leaves, benefits, professional development, police checks, onboarding and offboarding, etc.)- Update the HRIS system for changes such as salary adjustments, terminations, new hires, or other contract-related events- Draft employment contracts- Follow up on onboarding and offboarding tasks related to health benefits and pension plans- Maintain up-to-date onboarding and offboarding processes- Coordinate professional development and language classes (recording certificates, tracking, scheduling, etc.)- Liaise with payroll and benefits teams to ensure updates are reflected accurately for each pay period- Generate regular and ad hoc reports from internal databases (professional development, unions, payroll, HR)- Communicate with HRIS partners and train system users on functionalities and updates- Collaborate with the events team and campus principals to plan the new employee orientation week in August and the all-staff welcome day- Respond to various employee inquiries related to HR- Coordinate daily activities with the broader HR team
- Please note: TFS reserves the right to modify or assign additional duties at its sole discretion.- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field- Professional experience as an HRIS administrator or in a similar role
Hands-on experience with HR databases and software (we use Payworks)- Strong analytical and reporting skills- Basic knowledge of employment legislation- Proficiency in Google Drive, Docs, and other interactive online tools- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, or a strong willingness to improve in one of the two languages- Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and a collaborative approach- Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude toward change
