**Qualifications**:

- Completion of the Food Handler's Training Course
- Current Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Proof of Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check

Job Summary
To plan, purchase for and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for all children.
Job Duties **Provide the children with nutritious meals and snacks while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.**
- Work with the Executive Director to create a healthy; well balanced and diverse meal plan for the children.
- Plan for and purchase materials needed for week while staying within the budget discussed
- Prepare meals and snacks for the children using safe food handling techniques
- Keep a clean, safe environment for the children by cleaning and sanitizing all Kitchen surfaces, eating surfaces, and chairs, as well as cleaning the counters in the eating and kitchen areas. Ensure that cleaning supplies are available either by purchasing with the groceries, or ordering through our supplier with the Executive Directors approval
- Ensure all appliances are running correctly and notify the Executive Director if repairs are needed.
- Keep the menu board updated daily to inform Parents the meals and snacks of the day
- Ensure the First Aid Kits are stocked and checked monthly
- Update daily on Children's allergies and make any modifications to meats needed.
- Be available, when time permits, to assist with the children, abiding by all the Centre's policies and Ministry regulations while in this area.
- Contribute to the on-going operation of the Centre:
Follow licensing and other regulatory requirements.
- Carry out the responsibilities of the Executive Director as the designate when requested.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the Centre's children, families and staff.
- Participate in the annual performance review process.
- Plan and carry out an annual plan for staff development.
- Keep up-to-date with developments in the area of nutritional information and food recalls.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
- Food Handler Certification (required)
