**Functional Role**

As Hydrovac Operator you perform non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables to expose underground utilities and pipelines by using pressurized water and vacuum excavation systems. You meticulously follow safe work practices and safe job procedures to maintain both the integrity of underground infrastructure and a safe working environment.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, site preparation, and safety compliance. You keep the unit organized and clean, maintain accurate driver’s inspection reports, and provide safe, professional and reliable service to our customers. You perform all work to regulated organizational, as well as provincial and federal standards, procedures, laws and regulations and adhere to the highest standards of safety.

**Qualifications**
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 BC drivers’ licence with air brake endorsement
- Clean driving record
- Manual transmission
- Ground Disturbance II
- 2 years operating hydrovac equipment or similar preferred

The Hydrovac Operator will demonstrate the following abilities in their daily work:

(i) Frequently rotating (right/left) - check/see mirrors, blind spots

(vi) Requires bending, squatting, crawling and climbing

**Accountability**

The Hydrovac Operator is accountable to the Construction Administrative Coordinator (Dispatch) who may delegate authority.

Hours of Work
- Generally, 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Overtime required during busy construction periods

Compensation
- $35.00 to $40.45 per hour - depending on experience
- Extended health and dental benefits after 180-day waiting period

**Visa Requirements**

You must be legally eligible to work in Canada

**Accountabilities**

The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for the following:

- Be equipped with appropriate personal safety gear and always maintain:
(i) hard hat

(ii) hi-vis vest

(iii) steel toed boots/rubber boo

(iv) safety glasses/full face shield

(v) water resistant clothing
- Perform pre/post-trip inspection daily, including:
(i) Checking and adjusting brakes

(ii) Physically check over the truck

(iii) Check the insurance is valid

(iv) Fuel the truck

(v) Ensure trip book is filled in

(vi) Truck should be clean, inside and out

(vii) Grease truck and trailer (weekly)
- Be always prepared for CVSE roadside inspection, including:
(i) Paperwork must include your vehicle inspection form.

(ii) Pre-trips must include everything you find until it is fixed. Even if the mechanics aware of the fault. For exam
