The Outreach Student Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Manager, Student Recruitment (Domestic). The incumbent supports Sheridan’s enrolment strategy in support of the Sheridan Journey and retention targets and is a significant contributor to Sheridan’s public image. The incumbent promotes Sheridan as a higher learning institution of choice for prospective and existing students, with the purpose of increasing the number of qualified applicants and the conversion of those applicants to Sheridan students. The incumbent has the specific responsibility of the outreach student recruitment activity and advisement programs for prospects. The incumbent takes the lead role in liaising/collaborating with the academic Faculties and other service areas for the purpose of implementing recruitment strategies. The incumbent takes a coordinating and leadership role in the development and evaluation of annual training. The Outreach Student Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator represents the OTR and holds positions on internal College and external cross-college committees. The incumbent is responsible for project management of recruitment events, including development, implementation and evaluation of recruitment strategies and initiatives.

What You’ll be Doing

Strategically plans, develops and executes Sheridan wide recruitment strategies for their assigned territory/account portfolio;
Leads the partnering efforts to develop and deliver student enrollment/retention initiatives aimed at enhancing academic success, the quality of the student experience, and service to prospective students;
Develops communication plan to contact and engage with prospect students and influencers groups to foster relationship building;
Researches, develops and delivers recruitment programs/workshops/events, both in-person and virtual, tailored to the needs of each prospective student and influencer group;
Regularly reviews prospective students within their market and engage them to ensure their interest in Sheridan grows and encourages them to find the right path forward;
Acts as a consultant to the other staff when complex or unique student cases require expertise and decision-making and at times these decisions will become new best practices for the advising function;
Acts as a liaison for specific prospect cases or points of referral between other service areas, such as Event Services, International, Admissions, Faculty, and Student Services;
Develops support materials and schedule for part-time student recruitment staff and student workers; organizing and providing relevant information and materials required for outreach events;
Guiding and advising student workers and overseeing their activities for offsite events;
Plans and utilizes a methodology for data collection, conducts research and analysis, and creates associated reports and proposals;
Conducts research and performs analysis of student data to deliver information (i.e. user statistics, trends, etc.) pertinent to each Academic Faculty, service area and administrative unit.

Actively engages in external committees/working groups such as the LRSC (Liaison Recruitment Sub Committee), providing input relating to Sheridan to the committees/groups and relaying relevant information and/or escalations to the Manager, Student Recruitment (Domestic).

Performs other related duties as assigned.

You have superlative presentation and influencing skills and can clearly communicate complex information verbally and in writing across multiple levels.

4-year degree in Business, Social Science, Psychology, Business or related field of study.

5 years progressive experience in an educational environment or a combination of educational, social services and business environments where responsibilities included:
Leading groups, committees, and project teams (required)

Developing, executing and completing projects (required)

Assessing and advising clients (required)

Preparing and presenting to groups (required)

Collecting, recording, analyzing, reporting, and presenting statistics (required)

Creating, writing, delivering and evaluating training programs to groups (preferred)

Experience using Salesforce an asset.

The incumbent will travel to various locations around Ontario to deliver workshops/seminars and represent Sheridan. The incumbent will be required to work on occasional evenings and weekends throughout the year.
