Global Category Manager

Job Duties:

- Build and implement a category sourcing strategy that achieves internal customer (Products and Sales team) deliverables
- Identify and resolve complex sourcing, supplier management and supply chain problems
- Accountable for cost, quality, and service performance results for assigned category(s)
- Analyze BOM opportunities to understand and drive cost improvements in sourced assemblies
- Lead contract negotiations and ongoing contract compliance
- Lead business intelligence including global market trends, competitive benchmarking, and five forces analysis
- Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and ensure continuity of supply
- Promote internal and external productive working relationships between Weir Motion Metrics and suppliers
- Recommend sourcing changes or additional capacity requirements as needed to achieve stated goals and objectives; develop and monitor ESCO sourcing processes to ensure compliance worldwide; identify non-conformance issues and take corrective actions to rapidly close gaps in practices
- Strong supply chain acumen including demand planning and logistics/compliance understanding
- Work with NPD teams to setup collaborative development relationships with external tech partners and transition sourcing strategies to full scale supply
- Team with vendor and internal teams to ensure supplier quality criteria are exceeded and manage quality issues as they come up
- Electronic & Small Fabrication Sourcing Expectations:

- Develop a robust and successful global large mining buckets fabrication sourcing strategy and policies
- Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost and lead-time reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls is essential in this role
- Collaborate with the other Weir divisions on sourcing opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
- Experience in change management
- Able to challenge decisions and suggest alternatives
- Self-starter capable of partnering well with others in ambiguous situations

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, engineering, or supply chain
- Experience sourcing internationally
- Six+ years’ electronics sourcing or manufacturing operations experience including analysis, strategy development, contracts, negotiations, and supplier management in a global organization
- Data and analytical capabilities: report writing, financial analysis, landed cost optimization, etc.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle
- Must be able to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally
- Influence change
- communicate complex topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Demonstrate flexibility with high tolerance for ambiguity
- Have strong strategic problem-solving skills and deep quantitative capabilities
- Have a proven track record supporting development, implementation, improvement, and execution of global policies, processes, and procedures
