**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
Reporting to the Senior Director of Housing and Homelessness, the primary objective of the
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, consult with funding and regulatory agencies, and meet with special-interest groups and individuals, as needed.
- Research, Analysis, and Evaluation:
- Determine appropriate sources for best practices for a variety of programs and policies, including those related to:
- Development and administration of housing at all points on the housing spectrum and meeting a variety of household types and needs.
- Provision of income supplementation and poverty reduction programs, including rent/mortgage supplements or other income supplements.
- Development and administration of home repair and other homeowner support programs.
- Development and administration of supportive, transitional, and second-stage housing.
- Development and administration of social infrastructure of multiple types, such as community and cultural facilities, office spaces, hunting/harvesting grounds, and camping areas.
- Conduct research independently or in collaboration with MNBC staff, strategic partners, and consultants.
- Analyze and evaluate results of research and prepare summary reports and presentations.
- Propose New Programs and Revisions to Existing Programs:
- Develop research-informed program proposals or program revision proposals, including multiple scenarios for proposal containing status quo, and projected outcomes.
- Seek and Pursue Funding Opportunities:
- Thoroughly understand known funding sources, including existing funding agreements with CIRNAC and CMHC.
- Research additional programs available through known funders like BC Housing, CMHC, and others.
- Seek new funding opportunities from existing known funders and other funders which may include public agencies, private foundations, and other sources.
- Analyze the eligibility criteria and requirements for such opportunities, understanding which funding sources may be used for what sorts of uses (capital, operating, other), in what locations, and how they can be combined.
- Regularly update management on available and upcoming funding opportunities and timelines.
- Coordinate Reporting to Funding Agencies and Elected Officials:
- Take a leadership role in reporting.
- Collect and organize data from all Ministry programs for monthly updates to management and MNBC Cabinet, as well as annual, semi-annual, or other reporting to funders as required.
- Collaborate with MNBC Finance Department to obtain and review expenditure reports and audited financial statements.
- Confer with funders to ensure reporting is prepared to meet their standards.
- Maintain schedule of reporting requirements for all funders; regularly update management on upcoming reporting requirements.
- Prepare report narratives and presentations for management review.
- Supervision
- Solicit and supervise consultants by performing duties such as developing scopes of services and requests for proposals; reviewing work product; ensuring compliance with contract terms including budget, schedule, and deliverables; and providing feedback to management regarding consultant performance.
