**Advanced Aquatics Instructor/Examiner** **Location**:Laurier Brantford YMCA, 100 Water St, Brantford, ON N3T 0P1 Les Chater Family YMCA, 356 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, ON L9B 1C2 Ron Edwards Family YMCA, 500 Drury Lane, Burlington, ON L7R 2X2 Flamborough Family YMCA, 207 Parkside Drive, Waterdown, ON L8B 1B9 **Position Type**:Part Time, Contract **Hourly Wage**:$17.99-20.04 per hour Bronze Star/ Bronze Medallion/Bronze Cross $25.63 per hour National Lifeguard/Standard First Aid/Swim and Lifesaving **Position Description: **The Advanced Instructor/Examiner is a contract position to teach Advanced Aquatics Courses for certification and recertification of lifeguards and instructors. This role will administer courses adhering to all certifying bodies and provide reports to the designated lead on course completion. This role will facilitate the required training program and issuing the applicable exams and certificates. **In this position, you will**: - Responsible for facilitating training programs for the purposes of certifying and recertifying staff in the areas of Bronze Certification, First Aid, CPR, National Lifeguard, and Swim/Lifesaving Instructors - Ensure paperwork is submitted to the Aquatics Manager or designate responsible for issuing certificates in a timely manner - Requires a strong understanding of the certification and recertification process as outlined by certifying bodies, as well as YMCA policies and procedures - Work with designated lead to ensure logistics for courses are organized i.e. room bookings, pool bookings, manual ordering. **You Bring**: - Standard First Aid & CPR C are required for all positions. - Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check as per the Association’s policy certifications relevant to the stream of instruction as follows: _For Bronze level course instruction: _ - LSS Lifesaving Instructor - LSS Emergency First Aid Instructor - LSS Bronze Examiner - _For National Lifeguard course instruction: _ - _LSS National Lifeguard Instructor _ - _LSS NL Examiner _ - _For Standard First Aid course instruction: _ - LSS Standard First Aid Instructor - LSS Standard First Aid Examiner - _For Swim Instructor course instruction: _ - _LSS Swim and Lifesaving Instructor Trainer OR _ - _YMCA Canada Program Trainer - Aquatics**Interested in applying?** If you are interested in this position, send your resume to: Jaimie Rizzo, Manager, Aquatics, Advanced Aquatics Lead and click "My Company", then "View Opportunities" in the sidebar menu.
