A well-managed and led supply chain is a critical part of our success. This is a pivotal and very hands-on role for our organization, reporting to the Chief Operating officer. Managing the supply chain will take a specific blend of skills. You will be providing leadership and day-to-day direction to the planning, procurement, logistics and warehousing team members. You will also be a key link between Sales/Product Development and Plant Operations. Your area of responsibility includes Demand Planning & Forecasting, Long Range Production planning, S&OP, Master Data Management, Production Scheduling, Inventory Management & Control, Materials Requirement Planning, Strategic Material Sourcing (Ingredients & Packaging), Procurement, Order Processing, Warehousing, Freight Logistics and 3PL management.

The role:

- Provides direction and hands-on support to the Demand Planner to analyze our sales and develop an accurate demand plan and a long range sales forecast.
- Leads the S&OP process and ensures the development of a long range (3 months) production plan to satisfy the sales forecast while tightly managing inventory levels of materials and finished products.
- Oversees the development of the production schedule while adhering to food safety and allergen management requirements.
- Leads the strategic sourcing function and strives to achieve the lowest cost of materials (ingredients & Packaging) while mitigating business risk and building good supplier relations.
- Optimizes inventory levels of materials and finished goods to minimize the use of warehousing space and maximize inventory turns without compromising the production schedule or the customer service levels.
- Works closely and proactively with the R&D and Quality teams to source and procure new ingredients with a high degree of speed and flexibility while delivering the required materials specifications and quality requirements.
- Leads package development projects for all new and existing products (film, carton, gusset, master case and pallet configuration).
- Leads the procurement of ingredients and packaging and ensures they are received on time and within budget, while always adhering to our quality and food safety standards. Maintains a vendor/supplier evaluation system
- Negotiates raw material supply contracts with vendors and optimizes the volume to price equation to meet business needs while respecting inventory management targets.
- Works closely and collaborates with other department managers to meet and exceed the company’s goals
- Heads up the order fulfilment function and provides direction and support to ensure our service KPIs are world class.
- Manages the on-site warehousing function and ensures a high level of organization and optimal use of available space while respecting safety and quality standards.
- Directly manages all 3PL relationships with the goal of maximizing customer service levels while minimizing costs.
- Leads the effort to minimize inbound and outbound freight costs through the use of 3rd party freight logistics providers.
- Assesses our current ERP system, makes recommendations for upgrade or replacement and leads future implementation efforts.
- Provides leadership in the resolution of issues on a day to day challenges
- Leads the root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances to implement corrective/preventative action plans to avoid reoccurrence
- Works closely with Finance to establish budgets and standard costs and provides analysis on monthly purchase price variances.
- Continuously improves the supply chain operations, and establishes KPIs for measurement of current and new processes.
- Other duties as required

- University degree or College Diploma with specialized training and credentials in Supply Chain management (APICS, PMAC, or related work experience)
- Ten (10) years of management experience in Supply Chain within the CPG industry
- Strong food manufacturing experience
- Proficiency in Sales and Operations Planning
- Strategic sourcing capabilities and strong negotiating skills
- Supply chain optimization experience and strong inventory management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must be highly organized with excellent project management skills
- Solid financial sense and strong attention to detail with great analytical and data management capabilities
- Ability to manage in a complex and fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Confidence in building relationships with suppliers and in reporting to company stakeholders
- Must be experienced with ERP - MRP systems
