**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Information Gathering**: Conducting interval history-taking, physical examinations as necessary, reviewing lab work, cardiac and imaging reports, blood pressure logs, etc.
- **Clinic Notes**: Creating clinic follow-up notes using pre-made templates.
- **Patient Counseling**: Providing health counseling and education on hypertension and global cardiovascular risk reduction, including dietary changes, exercise-based intervention, and exploring core hypertension concepts.
- **Collaboration with Physician**: Reviewing every case with the physician in the clinic that day.
- **Medical Documentation**: Preparing bloodwork and imaging requisitions as well as prescriptions to be signed by the physician.
- **Patient Interaction**: in conjunction with the treating physician, the PA will be expected to help communicate treatment plans effectively to patients and their family members.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Communication Skills**: A high degree of competence in patient counseling and overall communication skills is essential.
- **Certification**: Should be certified with the Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA)
- **EMR Knowledge**:Familiarity with Accuro EMR or similar electronic medical record systems is preferred.
- **Clinical Knowledge**:Experience in hypertension care or a related field is an asset.
- **Teamwork**:Ability to work well within a team environment and complement a busy physician practice.
- **Self-Sufficiency**: Quick learner who can work independently while managing a full patient load.

**Work Schedule**:

- **Hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (with a half-hour unpaid lunch)
- **Duration**: Full-time position, 7.5-hour workdays
