Irrigation Technician

Kern Water has been proudly serving Sarina Lambton for over 30 years, specializing in the installation and service of residential, commercial, and industrial irrigation systems. We are actively seeking someone who is dedicated to assisting with maintenance, repair, and installation of both commercial and residential irrigation systems. You prioritize safety above all and look forward to learning from other industry professionals. **Responsibilities**: - Perform Irrigation System Spring Start-Ups, Season Adjustments and Winterizations - Assist with irrigation installations - Troubleshoot and repair Irrigation System problems (replace sprinklers, fix leaks, etc.) - Work independently and as a team to complete tasks - Prepare timesheets, service sheets and other daily paperwork as required - Utilize hand and power tools, as well as perform hand trenching with a shovel - Safely navigate company vehicle and maintain clean driving record - Plan, coordinate and maintain adequate part inventory in company vehicle - Ensure work is performed efficiently and safely in accordance with WSIB standards - Adapts to changes in seasonal work load by filling in with other grounds personnel as assigned by the supervisor **Qualifications / Requirements**: - Completed High School, additional education/training preferred - Experience as an Irrigation Service Technician - Valid class "G2" or “G” driver’s license, with a clean driving record (abstract available upon request) - Self motivated, eager to learn and have a great customer first attitude - Must be a team player, have effective communication and self directed. - Willingness to learn and develop new skills to enhance job performance - Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision - Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time - Ability to effectively communicate in English, both oral and written - Some plumbing or copper soldering experience is an asset **Other Notes**: - Typical working hours are 7:00am to 4pm, with additional hours and Saturdays during peak periods. - The typical season begins around the beginning of April and ends near the middle of December, weather permitting. All work is outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
