Part Time Instructor for Kids Robotics Program

RoboThink Edmonton offers fun & and exciting Robotics and Engineering programs where engineers, tinkerers and builders can explore the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). RoboThink Edmonton is currently looking for an enthusiastic & tech savvy individual to lead our Robotics Classes for children It is an ideal position for University students or post-University graduates heading for a career in Science, Education or Technology.

Our program and classes are held online or at Recreation Centers, schools, libraries, Churches or other locations in Edmonton. The most important part of our job is to have FUN, while making a tremendous impact on kids, as they learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, in a fun and engaging way

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach kid classes weekly, usually between 1-1.5 hours long per class
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner. Inspire students to think creatively, critically, and innovatively
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting daynamic and collaborative learning environment
- Prepare for each class by gathering supplies, preparing supplies, reviewing curriculum, and arranging classroom furniture. Clean up after each class
- Provide effective supervision to groups of children during classroom activities, recreation and field trips
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback
- Interact with parents and communicate student learning progress in RoboThink programs.
- Maintain a positive and fun learning environment by using appropriate classroom management strategies
- Supervise and train new or assistant teachers.
- Dependable and passionate working with children and guiding them in exploration
- Previous experience working with students in a school-based, enrichment program or camp setting would be an asset
- A flexible team player with strong oral and written communication skills
- Has a positive attitude and a sense of humor
- Punctual, energetic, well-organized and committed
- University students in Engineering and Education are preferred but not required
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own a car to transport class equipment such as building kits and laptops to the class location

**Flexible working hours**:
You must be available to work 2-5 days a week. Weekend availability is a plus. Hours can vary from 4 - 7 hours per week during the school year, and up to 30 hours per week, during the summer.
- Weekday: 4:30 PM-7:30 PM
- Weekends: 10:00 AM-11:30 AM, 1:00PM-2:30 PM or 2:30PM -4:00 PM
