**Berwick by the Sea **retirement community is looking for an **Active Living Coordinator** **(Recreation)** who is reliable, authentic, and excited to make a difference in the lives of people. **Schedule**:
This position is from Sunday to Tuesday, 9:00am to 5:00pm or 12:00pm to 8:00pm. For a total of **24 hours**.

Typical hours on Sunday are 9:00am to 5:00pm and hours on Monday and Tuesday will change between 9:00am to 5:00pm or 12:00pm to 8:00pm depending on operational needs.

**Pay**:
Starting Wage is **$28.74** (with a class 4 drivers license) & **$23.38** (no class 4 drivers license), plus shift differentials as applicable.

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Active Living Manager this position assists with the planning, organizing and implementation of recreation programs to meet the interests and needs of the residents. Day-to-day facilitation of programs for residents in independent living Apartments. Assists with the creation and delivery of diversified programs and services to meet the physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual needs of all residents. Provides participants with a safe and comfortable environment by remaining aware of and following health and safety policies and procedures. May be responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants during designated evening shifts and/or on bus outings.

- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and be well organized

**Qualifications**:

- Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR
- Class 4 BC Driver’s License
- Food Save and Serving It Right
- Preferably qualified with a degree in leisure studies or a Certificate in Recreation with a minimum of 3 years as a program facilitator
- Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word and Outlook

**Experience**:

- Related experience working with seniors and/or with supporting recreation or leisure programs would be an asset
- Experience with assisting at events would be an asset
