**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a **permanent full-time** opportunity in the **Data** **& Business Intelligence** (**BI)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platforms Analyst** role. This is a 12-month position to commence as soon as possible.

Reporting to the Manager of Applications Development, **Data** **& Business Intelligence** (**BI)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platforms Analyst** plays a crucial role in supporting data collection, data quality, data extraction / transformation / loading (ETL) processes, data analysis through BI and AI platforms, and reporting.

The **Data** **& Business Intelligence** (**BI)/Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platforms Analyst** focuses on the implementation of BI and AI platforms to optimize data-driven decision-making. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain BI and AI solutions that enhance the educational outcomes for students and support staff efficiency.

**LOCATION**:Guelph Board Office (500 Victoria Road N, Guelph, ON)

**HOURLY RATE**:Base Hourly rate**:$31.72 to $38.90 per hour; wage rate effective September 1, 2024

*Labour market adjustment of 16% to be applied to base hourly rate; hourly rate

inclusive of market adjustment is $36.80 to $45.12 per hour

*labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market.

**FTE/HOURS**:1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to tasks and duties in the following areas:

- Data Analysis and BI/AI Solution Development
- Works with stakeholders to collect, understand, document, and analyze user

requirements.
- Collects, cleans, and analyzes data from various sources such as the Student

Information System (SIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems of record

and a variety of specialized systems (e.g., Clevr, Compass) to support solution

requirements.
- Develops and maintains data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses / lakehouses to support efficient data processing and reporting.
- Designs, develops, and implements BI and AI solutions using platforms such as Python, Power BI, and Fabric.
- Generates reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders in an understandable and actionable format.
- Utilizes existing AI models for predictive analytics and other AI-driven functionalities; trains local small AI models when needed.
- Tests, deploys, and supports solutions.
- Tracks and addresses user feedback, issues, bugs, and design defects.
- Ensures the accuracy, integrity, privacy and security of all data collected and analyzed.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or another related field; or a combination of education and / or experience deemed equivalent by the Board.
- Post Secondary Degree in a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on BI and AI platforms.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Python libraries.
- Strong understanding of database management, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with API, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Bash, and cloud computing environments.
- Certifications in Data Science, BI, or AI preferred.
- Understanding of software architecture, Object Oriented Programming, and design patterns to solve complicated business requirements.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle, agile, and other software development methodologies.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience in developing and implementing BI dashboards and AI models.
- Knowledge of educational data standards and privacy regulations.
