As our Night Shift Team Lead, you will be the leader-on-duty for our night shift, helping to maintain our high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring deliveries are made on-time, driver performance is managed properly, and helping to further develop the skills of our current Class 3 professional driving team. Your goal will be to build a culture of success on our night shift by overseeing driver performance, monitoring customer satisfaction scores and ensuring that our current driving team is supported during their overnight shifts. Your success will depend on your ability to build relationships with drivers, maintain our safety standards and ensuring that our scheduled deliveries are carried out within their scheduled delivery timeframes.

Please note:

- The schedule for this position will be from Sunday to Thursday
- Scheduled hours for this position are 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
- This is an ‘in-the-field’ position - your time will be spent in our Class 3 delivery vehicles doing deliveries with our driving team

Your Responsibilities:

- Lead a team of Class 3 overnight shift drivers to ensure night shift performance remains within stated KPIs for shift attendance, delivery fulfillment times and our weCommit safety program
- Serves as the primary contact on the overnight shift including the handling and/or triage of after hour incidents - This role works fully independently and is empowered to coordinate and resolve all after hours operational issues. Only the most complex issues are escalated.
- Engage stakeholders to work through complex logístical issues and gain consensus for resolution, if necessary
- Deliver status updates, reports and pertinent information to Distribution Managers and internal stakeholders regularly
- Make difficult and time sensitive decisions to support business objectives
- Be a champion for our weCommit safety program to ensure to ensure personal & process safety goals are achieved
- Bring forward and implement recommendations to optimize performance and proactively resolve issues. Improve after hours processes and develop recommendations to improve efficiencies
- Lead response to all after hours driver emergency and non-emergency calls to resolve issues through effective planning, prioritization of activities, and creative problem solving
- Engage stakeholders to work through complex logístical issues and gain consensus for resolution
- Partner with dispatch to ensure execution of scheduled Work. Workflow and troubleshoot any issues within the workflow process
- Monitor E-log reporting for all after hour drivers and maintain data integrity within TMW for all drivers (scheduled drivers, log in/log out times)

Your Skills:

- Robust leadership and performance management skills and must be able to hold employees accountable to stated performance metrics
- Must have high-level communication and relationship building capabilities
- Strong creative problem solving and decision-making skills

Your Experience:

- High School/G.E.D. Diploma
- 2-3 years of experience in a leadership position
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in a transportation or logistics role, preferably in operational leadership, dispatch, fleet maintenance, or as a professional driver
