Like WCG, you believe in the power of work to transform lives. As a Career Advisor, you’ll be responsible for assisting clients with progressing along their career continuum. This role ensures successful outcomes for the client while ensuring all contract deliverables are achieved. The process of case management involves developing a positive relationship with the client, encouraging, motivating, and supporting the client to achieve sustainable employment, further training, and increase independence and self-sufficiency as appropriate for each client.

The CA will be a key, ongoing contact for the client throughout the service continuum and ensure seamless service is provided to clients. Key factors in case management include assisting clients with resume writing, interview preparation, building confidence, self-motivation, building their skills, strengths, and abilities to achieve and maintain sustainable employment or attend further training.

**What you’ll do**:

- Collaborate with the client to develop, update and revise service plans, in line with policy
- Overall responsibility for the management of assigned client case files in Mobius/Compass and organizational database, including, documentation on client eligibility determination, and recording client progress and results
- Support and monitor the progress of each client by reviewing the client’s progress and comparing it against the client’s Service Plan, verify client engagement, ensure documentation requirements are being completed, and perform general oversight activities
- Collaborate with other organizations as necessary to coordinate a client’s Service Plan activities, exposure course needs, and financial supports
- Refer client to external community resources as required and follow up on referrals as appropriate
- Support the client in their career journey including motivating, career consulting, resume reviews, interview preparation, training research, and developing service plans
- Provide services in a manner that is welcoming, safe, and professional and ensures that client privacy is protected

**What you bring**:

- Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management) or related experience
- 2 years of demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring clients; working with individuals from diverse groups; collaborating with individuals and building partnerships with community agencies and other stakeholders
- Successful history helping clients overcome challenges to employment
- Flexible, creative, and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements and targets
- Able to manage stressful situations in a challenging environment
- Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, job search techniques, career development and issues relating to unemployment
- Strong digital literacy including social media and Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid understanding of confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct
- Must be able to provide a criminal record check
- Career Development Practitioner (CDP) certification considered an asset
- Fluent French considered an asset
