Manager, Intramurals, Sport Clubs, Aquatics and

**Purpose**:
The incumbent will act as a key member of the Athletics and Recreation management team. The Manager will provide fiscal, operational, & human resources management for the IMS (Intramural Sport), Sport Clubs, Aquatics & First Aid operations. In consultation with the Associate Director, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing IMS programming for York University (Keele, Glendon, Markham), Aquatics & First Aid (Keele & Markham). and Sport Clubs (Keele, Glendon, Markham).The incumbent will undertake short
- and long-term planning for the growth and efficient operation of all program areas and analyze program success through a variety of measures including (but not limited to): operational analysis (including KPI's). cost benefit analysis. participant feedback/surveys. industry benchmarking. etc.The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of full time (YUSA1) & part time (YUSA2) staff, Work Study, Summer Student, Part Time Casual, TCM, volunteer coaches, and student volunteers. This position requires commitment and adherence to the values and principles of Athletics & Recreation as expressed in the mandate of the department.

**Education**:
College Diploma in Recreation. University degree in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education preferred. or other education diploma/degree with requisite experience. Standard First Aid and CPR is required.

**Experience**:
3-5 years in sport and/or program administration at a post-secondary, municipal or other comparable environment. Experience providing supervision, direction and evaluation of unionized staff. responsibility for program design, delivery and evaluation. creation and management of budgets.

**Skills**:
Understanding of university sport and recreation programming. specific understanding and knowledge of relationship of Student Services, Colleges and Intramural Sport and Sport Club management.Superior communication skills combined with leadership and exceptional problem-solving skills. Extensive knowledge of intramural leagues, sport clubs, aquatics & first aid. Proven relationship building and collaboration skills.Knowledge of aquatic programming and risk management is a considerable asset.

- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
