The Ontario Central region currently has an opening for the position of General Manager, Cineplex Odeon Westmount London & VIP Cinemas, reporting to the Executive Director, Ontario West Operations.

General Manager Role
As the General Manager of the this location you will be accountable for the effective operation of the complex, ensuring company objectives, policies and procedures are implemented and administered in support of the Cineplex Entertainment Mission Statement and Key Result Areas. The General Manager will also function as a liaison with the Home Office and various departments as well as outside vendors and clients.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Leading and Managing the team.
- Managing the Guest Experience.
- Managing Cost Control.
- Managing Revenue Generation.
- Provide leadership to both our internal and external guests by employing best practices in hiring, motivating and developing the team.
- Provide excellence in coaching, improving team stability and engagement at all levels.
- Oversee theatre management to ensure theatre operations, training procedures and guest service standards reflect the company policies and procedures and ensure that staffing requirements are met Manage/organize and report on special projects, including but not limited to:
- Theatre rentals and birthday party programs
- Film promotions and follow-up (revenue generation) in conjunction with the Marketing department.
- Monitor all aspects of theatre operations on an on-going basis:
- Complete self-assessment reports for review and follow-up with Theatre Managers
- Conduct theatre audits
- Conduct audits (i.e. voids, refunds, pass log entries vs. physical passes, review of petty cash limits, security codes);
- Complete weekly and monthly administrative tasks as per reporting requirements, including but not limited to:
- Weekly film programming
- Scheduling of theatre management
- Responses as required to internal reports (food cost, audit, cash over/short, etc).
- Monitor operating statements to ensure the theatres are operating within approved budgets.
- Investigate and respond to discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with Government and Health & Safety Regulations:
- Ensure that all fire safety codes are being met as per local and provincial standards
- Ensure that all operational and food service areas meet the standards of Cineplex Entertainment and that of the local Health Departments
- Implement any needed improvements and training to ensure that Health Standards are met.
**Qualifications**:
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Demonstrate strong communication (oral & written), organization, management and leadership skills to lead a theatre team in a positive environment;
- Demonstrates strong financial acumen;
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Execution of innovative and creative sales and merchandising activities;
- Sound understanding of Vista POS, Windows and MS Office;
- Demonstrate a full understanding of provincial Health & Safety regulations and the company’s Health & Safety Policy;
- Work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities, attend to employees development while continuing to meet financial targets and reporting responsibilities;
- A flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a manager with proven experience in staff supervision and field operations.
