IT Systems Administrator

**Our new System Administrator is**:
Our new Sysadmin is someone who delights in all things IT. You will manage and administer key IT projects and implementations, monitor and ensure our servers and services are up to date and functioning. You’ll ensure that issues are found and corrected quickly and that preventative measures are put into place to ensure smooth operation of our IT services.

**Our new System Administrator will**:

- Mange our internal helpdesk ticketing system, prioritize user requests and provide support
- Set up new user O365 and AD accounts and provide new hire IT orientation
- Participate in the planning, design and implementation of relevant architecture, hardware and software.
- Monitor performance of systems to ensure that ongoing service-delivery standards, service levels and IT policies are met.
- Make and deliver on commitments made within team ensuring thorough task completion with mínimal supervision.
- Make regular progress on developing new skills and growing in current skills.
- Participate in on-call rotation with occasional after hours and weekend support.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.

**Our new System Administrator has**:

- Degree or diploma in Computer Systems.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Microsoft MCSE and/or Cisco CCNA certifications would be an asset.
- Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of switches and firewalls, preferably Cisco and Palo Alto.
- Experience with server room management.
- Windows Server and Linux system administration.
- Experience working with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Working knowledge of IT security concepts in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Antivirus and other endpoint security solutions.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
- Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Plus experience in some of the following:

- Monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds.
- Patch management, including SCCM.
- Backup software, such as Commvault.
- Virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V, including implementation of storage systems and networking.
- VPN configuration.
- Intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems.
- Scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Configuration management technologies, such as Ansible, Puppet, Salt or Chef.
- Hands on experience with Cloud technologies.
