Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, the Maintenance Attendant will provide guests' comfort by ensuring that Resort runs at optimal functionality. A Maintenance Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant and friendly and with a positive outlook.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide 5-star customer service to all guests.
- Acknowledge and greet guests with a warm and friendly greeting.
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
- Perform maintenance of electrical and security systems (e.g. light bulbs, sockets, alarms etc.)
- Maintain heating, plumbing, refrigeration and other systems to ensure functionality.
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (e.g. fix locks, replace windows or doors, etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. painting, carpentry, landscaping etc.)
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, leaf blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
- Maintain or repair tools, equipment, vehicles and structures.
- Provide upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, garbage/recycling bins, doggie bag dispensers, and ashtrays.
- Work closely with Guest Services and Housekeeping departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Answer or investigate all guest inquiries promptly.
- Comply with all Resort safety guidelines and be familiar with emergency procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
- Ability to work well unsupervised and at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards
- Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail as well as a solid work ethic
- Must be highly responsible and reliable
- Must have excellent English communication and organizational skills
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must be comfortable with a range of machinery and tools
- Must possess proven maintenance experience; certifications and education are an asset
Physical Demands
Must be physically fit and able to lift moderately heavy items. Also must engage in movements such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs when required. In addition, maintenance attendants will be required to perform repetitive tasks, stand on their feet, and walk for long periods.
