About the Role:
A Proofreader at Toppan Merrill is responsible for all aspects of proofreading our clients’ financial documents, ensuring typographical and compositional accuracy.
What You’ll Do:
- Read typescript, EDGAR output and/or proof-of-type setup to detect grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors- Check accuracy of document colors, dimensions, spacing, and positioning of copy and illustrations- Proofread documents using standard proofreading symbols for correction by Typesetters- Read and query client edits primarily in English (although sometimes in foreign languages, such as French/German)- Coordinate with fellow Readers, Typesetters, Supervisors, and Customer Service Representatives for consistency across production lines
About You:
- Talent for proofreading detail-oriented financial document work for spelling and grammar (preferably in multiple languages)- Possess a keen awareness of deadlines and a willingness to work with team members or alone for optimal productivity- Understanding speed and accuracy are key attributes in our time-sensitive and deadline-driven business- Willingness to be flexible and to work overtime hours as needed during the week and on weekends
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED- 3+ years of proofreading experience
