**Position Overview**: The City of Prince Albert is looking to fill the permanent position of Airport Maintenance Person. An employee of this position performs activities necessary to provide operational and structural maintenance and support to the Airfield, the Airport grounds, buildings and facilities. Reporting to the Out-of-Scope Manager or designate, an employee in this classification may be given considerable latitude in making independent decisions respecting airfield conditions, the impact of which could determine the serviceability of the Airport. **Principle Duties & Responsibilities**: Maintain airfield operating surfaces, runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons and grassed areas on both airside and groundside in accordance with surface maintenance manuals. Maintain surface and subsurface drainage systems associated with aircraft operating surfaces. Maintain access and service roads and parking lots and associated fences and signs on both airside and groundside. Maintenance and monitoring of landscaping and exterior of all airside and groundside buildings/structures. Preparation and maintenance of records and reports respecting airfield conditions, fuel management, vehicles and equipment, the Field Electrical Centre and other buildings and structures as required on a regular basis. Perform daily janitorial duties. Perform security duties for the airside. This does not include hold baggage and passenger screening. Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures. Follow the Act, Regulations and policies of Occupational Health and Safety. Perform other related duties as assigned. Thorough knowledge of airport maintenance standards and procedures. Ability to read drawings/maps, Civil Aviation publications and NOTAMS. Knowledge of airport winter maintenance strategies. Ability to operate all required maintenance equipment. Knowledge of emergency response requirement of an airport. Knowledge of wildlife management strategies. Knowledge of airport security regulations. Ability to exercise individual judgement respecting efficient and safe operation of equipment, quality of work, selection of correct materials and strategies. Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing. Ability to work with mínimal supervision. Ability to deal effectively with the public, tenants and co-workers. Knowledge of and ability to interpret Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures. Good organizational skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation and provide recommendations to the manager. Ability to plan and inspect work. **Required Qualifications**: Grade 12 or equivalent. Must possess Power Mobile Equipment theory training. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License relevant to airport equipment type. (Minimum Class 5 A) Must possess and maintain an Industry Canada - Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical. (Radio Licence) Must possess and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP). Special Conditions (required within proving period) Security Background Check Required. Site Specific Certification in Motor Grader, Front End Loader, Plow/Sweeper, Mowers, Snow Blower and Deicer Must possess and maintain certification in Human Factors, Runway conditions reporting, Safety Management, Emergency Response and Wildlife Management. Must possess and maintain a Pesticide Applicator's License as issued by the Department of Agriculture in both Landscape and Structural classifications. Must possess and maintain a Firearm's Possession and Acquisition License and Hunter Safety Certificate. Must possess and maintain a valid Level "C" CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate Must possess and maintain a Fire Extinguisher Operators Course. Must be willing to take applicable safety and job-related programs, courses, and medical shots.
