**Job Description: Food Runner / Server's Assistant**

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure tables are set up and reset promptly, maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment.
- Assist servers in providing exceptional service by refilling water glasses, clearing plates, and addressing guest needs.
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables swiftly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the dining area, service stations, and restrooms.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate effectively with team members.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Assist in stocking and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Support the overall operations of the restaurant by performing additional duties as assigned.
- Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, providing a warm and gracious greeting.
- Maintain the high cleanliness and presentation standards established by Sooke Harbour House.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when dealing with staff & management.
- Strong customer and communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to multitask effectively. Ability to work in a fast paced and variable environment.
- Prepare in advance of busy times by pre-stocking needed items.
- Support team members and assist in various tasks as necessary.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in a busser/food runner or serving roll, within food service guidelines
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient organizational capabilities and adept at multitasking.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and handle difficult situations with grace.
- Positive attitude and a dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with reservation systems and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to catch on quickly and follow directions with ease, executing tasks as they were asked.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- FoodSafe and Serving It Right Certifications
- Food and drink knowledge is an asset as we have both a casual, and fine dining

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.40 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
