**COMPANY / JOB OVERVIEW**
Quality Inspection Technologies, an ISO 17025 lab, is looking for a bright, energetic and experienced CMM operator. We calibrate / certify checking fixtures / gauges for a wide variety of parts in the automotive industry. Aside from this we perform first article inspection for a wide variety of parts including stampings, plastic injection, forgings and die castings amongst others.
In this position, you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control. As a CMM Programmer/ Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for development of CMM programs and inspection procedures conforming to customer data, drawings and specifications. You must be able to work in a time sensitive environment to meet customer demands.
This is a full time position 40 hours a week with overtime as required. The hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm Eligible for health and dental benefits.
**Key** **Responsibilities**
- To verify the dimensional accuracy of moulds, dies, component parts, fixtures, plastic injection and die cast parts according to CAD data, and tool/part print specifications.
- Setup and program a wide variety of parts on Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Mitutoyo Bright 910 Mcosmo and PCDimis and Wenzel 1220 with Quartis Wenzel Software ( training provided)
- Perform Calibration on Inspection Check Fixtures including adjustments for final fittings
- Setup inspection procedures for parts and measure conformance of products to specifications and standards
- Perform capability studies on new parts (collect and analyze data).
- Conventional measuring, using a range of hand equipment including shadowgraph
- Work closely with Engineering on new product introduction to ensure the best process is implemented early.
- Identify potential quality issues.
- Collaborate with production and support employees to find the root cause of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Preparing inspection reports for internal and external use
- Reporting results to relevant departments
- Effectively maintain and update ISO 17025:2017 Standards and help with transition as required
**Education and Experience**
- CQT (Certified Quality Technician) or Technical College / Post-secondary education
- asset if in manufacturing/mechanical engineering
- CMM CNC programming (3 - 5 years operational experience in ISO 17025 automotive or similar work environment).
- Experience with calibrating checking fixtures for a wide variety of parts.
- Experience working with PC-DMIS or Mitutoyo Software
- Fixture and gauge knowledge an asset
- Microsoft Office suite of software
- Familiar with the operation and use of Faro Arm
- Experience in CAD software
- Knowledge of basic calibration (recall) system and quality audit experience
**Key Competencies**
- Strong working knowledge and experience of reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
- Strong knowledge of SPC.
- Able to work independently on problem resolution.
- Committed to continuous improvement.
- Good attitude. Willing to learn.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay on schedule
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, fluent in English reading, writing and verbal communication
- Flexible with hours of work - able to work multi site for a short term
- A bright, ambitious individual with relevant background in the automotive industry
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Sound knowledge of ISO 17025 / ISO 9000 procedures
- Internal Audit experience
- Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features
