**Nature and Scope**

The Manager, Box Office (MBO) will be responsible for the delivery of professional, reliable, and effective services in the areas of Box Office Operations, and Theatre Marketing - all in support of the Theatre and Venue Operations. The MBO will be responsible for hiring, training, and directly supervising a number of staff. They will also be expected to build positive and harmonious relationships with internal and external partners to provide the highest level of client and customer satisfaction. They will oversee the Box Office Coordinator (BOC) to ensure effective and professional delivery of the box office operations for all Algonquin Students’
Association (SA) ticketing needs. They will oversee the Theatre Marketing Coordinator (TMC) to maintain, update, and advance the Algonquin Commons Theatre’s (ACT) traditional, digital, and social media presence impact and brand. They will also oversee part-time staff to support
Box Office and Theatre Marketing needs. Based on the production schedule, the MBO is expected to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as the schedule demands.
The MBO will have access to confidential information and will be required to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

**Job Duties**
- Effective leadership, supervision, and motivation of part-time and full-time employees
- Overall management of Theatre and Venue Box Office processes (including Box Office Builds and Box Office Settlements, and Marketing services)
- Overall management of Ticketing platform partnerships and agreements
- Mentor and develop staff members to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all associated marketing and ticketing processes
- Liaison with clients regarding the preparation of their event ticketing and marketing visions
- Ensure Box Office services are welcoming for clients, and their guests/patrons
- Ensure that Box Office deposits are handled in a timely manner, and following all SA Financial processes and procedures
- Ensure that the ACT booking system/calendar is updated with all required information in advance of, and following each booking/event/usage
- Ensure the SA Ticketing equipment pieces are maintained and following a predictive maintenance schedule
- Attend regular Staff and Management meetings, being prepared to participate and engage during those meetings
- Coordinate biweekly meetings with the Ticketing and Theatre Marketing team to ensure all upcoming events are well planned, well promoted, and that proper ticketing process are in place
- Act as the Manager-on-Duty for Theatre and Rental Events on a regular basis (working with the management team to ensure all events are staffed with a MOD)
- Preview and prepare all cheque requisitions, invoices, and credit card statements that pertain to the MBO position - and track those expenses
- Adhere to all production schedules, budgets, and deadlines as set by the Senior Manager, Business and Facility Operations
- Attend and support the Senior Manager, Business and Facility Operations in briefings and support where necessary
- Schedule and manage production timelines and production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize staff costs
- When acting as the MOD, ensure events are executed above client satisfaction and staff adhere to all pre-determined event logistics
- Liaise with all other Theatre/SA departments to provide assistance and support where necessary
- Event assistance when needed.

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**
