Employment Counsellor

Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc.’s Employment Ontario Employment Services Program, known as Career Edge, requires an Employment Counsellor to provide services in its Trenton location. This is a full time, contract position for 12 months, commencing on September 20, 2024 and ending September 19, 2025.

**Who You Are**
As an Employment Counsellor, you are a part of our Employment Services team and your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to guiding your clients to successful outcomes including employment, training, education and/or entrepreneurship. While assisting clients through the intake process and determining their needs, you will communicate in an open, helpful and engaging tone with a focus on empowering each client through the job search process.

You enjoy working with people, are organized, and can work effectively with a variety of software programs. This role will have you managing a caseload of clients, working collaboratively across all of our departments, completing data entry, following program guidelines and referring clients to community supports and services.

**Skills We’re Looking for**:

- Excellent communication skills
- Strong case management skills including entering accurate case notes and maintaining organized files
- Effective time management skills to meet timelines and targets by prioritizing tasks
- Knowledge of the local labour market and labour legislation

**Qualifications Required**:

- University Degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of employment counselling experience is preferred
- Valid driver’s licence
