Sr. Carmelina’s Preschool Academy is located in Woodbridge Ontario and is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced RECE Supervisor to join our team. As the RECE Supervisor of 2 toddler and 2 preschool classrooms, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily classroom operations to create an enjoyable and child focused working environment.
This is a _leadership_ role that requires excellent inter-personal skills and very strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with parents, teaching staff, stakeholders and government.
**RECE Supervisor Responsibilities**:
- Ensures the Preschool is operated in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014, Public Health, Fire Safety, Employment Standards Act and all other licensing regulations
- Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of each child
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and manage all staff (ECEs, ECAs, Chef)
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the Preschool which includes but is not limited to, maintaining a harmonious environment, planning special events throughout the year, on-going review of enrichment programs, etc.
- Plan and implement suitable high quality care programs and play based education - How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (HDLH) curriculum to meets the needs of all children, utilizing clear and concise routines, rules and limits
- Provide on-going open communications to the staff and the families in our community
- Conduct family interviews, guided tours and orientation sessions to new parents
- Provide program support to staff and ensure age-appropriate programs are monitored and evaluated to meet the needs of the children and families
- Develop programs in compliance with the CCEY Act
- Monitor and evaluate program delivery to ensure the programs meet target deliverables and quality programming standards. Maintain and monitor annual program work plans, outcome frameworks and reporting systems
- Ensure all classrooms are up to standard according to Ministry and Public Health policies
- Conducts annual performance evaluations for all staff
- Identify and document any critical incidents and disciplinary problems
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on outputs, outcomes, reporting, teaching staff, and program statistics
- Plan and implement professional development opportunities for all teaching staff, as appropriate
- Acts as a resource for all staff with respect to program planning that includes physical, social, emotional, creative and cognitive development
- Observe and participate in daily routines and activities to ensure continued contact with staff, children and parents and conducts regular meetings with teaching staff
- Implement disciplinary measures and terminates staff in consultation with the Preschool Director
**Skills**:
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with staff, clients, and stakeholders
- Experience working in a childcare setting is mandatory
- Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving common goals
- Proficient in English language, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and educational principles
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3-5 years as a RECE Supervisor role in a child care center
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience as a RECE teacher
- MUST have a RECE Designation and be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate
- All necessary up-to-date immunizations
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check (current within 6 months, or willing to obtain)
- Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen? and Child Care Licensing Manual
- Working knowledge of York Region Public Health Guidance Document
- Knowledge and awareness of Catholic traditions and holidays or the willingness to learn
- Valid Ontario’s Drivers License and access to a car considered an asset
Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
