Position Overview:
**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Manage, coordinate and administer the Site Plan Review Process.
- Negotiate to resolve conflicts between applicants, interested parties and stakeholders on a variety of planning and urban design matters.
- Serve as the main contact for the Site Plan Review Process and Committee.
- Coordinate and respond to inquiries related to the Site Plan approval process.
- Focus on continuous improvement efforts related to the site plan process (eg. updating procedures, requirements and site plan by-law) as required.
- Provide continuous, excellent, top quality customer service.
- Act as expert witness at the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), as required.
- Engage in public consultation, where required and appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and requirements**
- Membership or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Professional Planner’s Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planning (CIP).
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
- Proven ability to prioritize, organize, coordinate and manage a variety of projects simultaneously while being adaptable to deadlines, time constraints and changing priorities.
- Ability to provide a solution oriented, customer service approach using good judgement, creativity and strategic thinking.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment and to successfully negotiate and liaise with stakeholders, agencies, developers, consultants, and the community using strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Knowledge of G.I.S., AMANDA and Bluebeam software is an asset.
**Hours of work**
35 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Occasional evening work would be required to attend meetings.
**Pay/Salary**
CUPE 973 Grade 11: $47.12 - $57.87 per hour
