Production Lead Hand

**Position summary**:
**Position duties**:
May include, but are not limited to the following:

- Monitor, promote and enforce safe practices.
- Coordinate activities to ensure safe working environment.
- Ensure daily production requirements are met.
- Promptly communicate changes and assignments to associates.
- Frequently audit all associates’ activities to ensure 100% compliance to their respective responsibilities and assignments (i.e., following OMI’s).
- Monitor scrap level on hourly basis and report concerns to Production Supervisor.
- Coordinate time and resources to validate that all associates are properly trained when assigned to their working areas (i.e., new hires and cross training).
- Promptly and effectively communicate with all team members.
- Ensure readiness of all resources required to meet 100% production schedule requirements (i.e., dryers, totes, material gaylords).
- Ensure readiness of all resources required to meet production scrap, machine efficiency and labor efficiency goals established by Plant Manager.
- Enforce containment of defective product at the source and coordinate activities to promptly manage or correct the problem (i.e., label management, merging).
- Monitor and enforce housekeeping standards.
- Trains associates as needed.
- Ability to safety operate a forklift.
- Regular and Predictable attendance.

**Required skills and experience**:

- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Must be familiar with computers with the ability to use Word, Excel, and other software.
- Forklift operation.
- Must have excellent communication and people skills.
- Must be aware of customer requirements and expectations.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to work overtime as required and on short notice.

**Education and/or Experience**
- Minimum two years’ experience in Manufacturing.
- Previous experience in a leadership role.
- Previous Forklift experience an asset.

**Physical Demands**
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of scheduled shift.

Pay: $18.77-$21.26 per hour
