**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**JOB TITLE: Custodial Staff**
Department: Facilities
Report To: Internal Coordinator
Direct Reports: Supervisor
Position Type: Full Time Contract - Night Shift
Job Length: Permanent
Pay: $23 per hour

**I. JOB STATEMENT**:
We are seeking a custodial / cleaning staff that has great attention to detail, excellent communication, verbal and written skills, excellent time management, and effective problem-solving skills.

**2. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
In **this position** you will be required to, but not limited to:
1. Floor Care - sweep, mop, auto scrub, vacuum, clean carpets
2. Heavy cleaning in all areas
3. Dusting
4. Emptying, and removing garbage
5. Ensure the food court is maintained in a healthy, safe, sanitary and timely manner.
6. Be able to work with mínimal supervision
7. Escalate any custodial, maintenance and/or safety issues to Facilities Manager for resolution
8. Ensures the safety of all members, property and staff by following established WHMIS safety standards and Workplace Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures

**3. JOB SPECIFICATIONS**

1. High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
2. Custodial experience is preferred.
3. Must be 18 years of age or older.
4. Solid track-record of performance at previous jobs.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships with colleagues, vendors, community members and other stakeholders
6. Excellent organization and communication skills (oral and written).
7. Good judgment, tact and diplomacy, and initiative.
8. Completion of WHMIS training and Occupational Health and Safety desirable
9. Ability to work as an effective member of a team in a fast pace environment.

**Salary**: $23.00 per hour
