Westcap is seeking a financial professional to fill the role of Controller.
**THE ROLE**:Westcap is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our professional team. In this diverse role, you will support the Vice President of Finance, work closely with members of the Finance and Investment Teams and utilize your financial accounting skills to provide exemplary financial services to Westcap and its Funds under management.
- Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to_:
- Preparation of financial statements, accompanying notes, supporting working papers and management reports of fund performance
- Calculate weekly net asset value
- Deal directly with external auditors on completion of semi-annual and year-end financial statements
- Preparation of annual budget and financial forecasts
- Complete journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Preparation of quarterly and annual reports required by third parties
- Liaise with a transfer agent, custodian and financial institutions to complete various accounting, investment and administrative tasks
- Ensure all transactions and reports are completed in compliance with financial policies and regulations
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or near completion
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial management capacity leading all finance and accounting functions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Thrive in a fast-paced, professional office environment
- Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently, with little supervision, and within a team environment
- Extensive hands-on technical skills using QuickBooks and MS Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
