**Part Time Custodians
**Starting Wage - $20.80/hour**
**Casual Hours**

**Availability required for Days, Evenings and Weekends
**Custodians perform custodial services at assigned sites which include ensuring an attractive
and safe environment for staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations;
overseeing the preparation of facilities for programs, meetings, facility bookings, and events.
Custodian will also assist in security services for all facilities owned by the Town of Sylvan Lake.
The position exercises judgment and initiative while demonstrates strong customer service.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Perform quality janitorial work throughout the facilities including: maintaining cleanliness

of all areas, rental spaces, public washrooms and removal of garbage.
Perform safety and security for the facilities including: opening and closing procedures,

safety and security checks
Provide excellent customer service by assisting rental groups with setup and takedown

(seating, sports equipment etc.)
Communicate facility rules and regulations to ensure safe use by patrons
Successfully resolve patron concerns

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 (or equivalent)** **
Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs
Physical Effort may include long periods of walking, bending, twisting and kneeling** **
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License** **
First Aid and CPR** **
RCMP Based Criminal Record Check deemed acceptable by the Town** **
Ability to work flexible hours (days, evenings and weekends) is required**
