Heat Treat Operator

Boart Longyear is accepting resumes for the role of Heat Treat Operator based in Mississauga, Ontario. In this high-volume production environment, Boart Longyear is committed to high quality, safety, environmental and continuous improvement practices. Job Responsibilities:

- Startup, shutdown, and operation of industrial carburizing furnaces
- Monitoring furnace temperature, gas flow, and carburization factor
- Loading/unloading parts scheduled for heat treatment into furnace fixtures
- Preparing/staging incoming production parts scheduled for heat treatment
- Use overhead bridge crane and counterbalance forklift to move product through the heat treatment department
- Wear appropriate PPE, including heat resistant jacket and gloves as required
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain the safety of heat treatment equipment
- This position requires ongoing physical demands including lifting, bending, walking, standing.

**Skills**:

- Have the knowledge of metallurgies and heat treatment of metal materials.
- Be familiar with the heat treatment process and equipment.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a unionized environment

Shift Work

Education and Experience:

- College diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of related experience

The Global Products division designs, manufactures and sells drilling equipment, performance tooling, down-hole instrumentation and parts and services.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
