**About the role**
Assists persons served with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional, and daily life skills development. Assists persons served to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible.
This position requires participation in assessment, goal setting and program planning along with implementation.

This position is grid level 10 ($21.63/ hr) and requires union membership.
Benefits package as per the collective agreement.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm

**Duties Include**
- Assisting persons served to function more independently in their own homes and in the community, this could involve assisting with grooming, cooking, money management, shopping, safety and more.
- Facilitating a variety of activities while being able to recognize and handle potential emergency situations including but not limited to clients’ aggressive behaviour.
- Administering medication in accordance with established policy.
- Maintaining all health and safety standards.
- Documentation and daily reporting.
- Accompany and/or transport client to appointments, shopping and leisure activities.
- Other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Knowledge**
- Diploma in a related human / social service field.
- One (1) year recent related experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Experience working with crisis management - working with individuals with extreme behaviors and/or mental health concerns
- Computer Skills - Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with medication administration
- Vaccinated for Covid-19
- This position is open to all applicants over the age of 19._
