**Position Summary**

Reporting to the General Manager of Properties the Hotel Manager will manage and oversee the operations of our Katimavik Suites Hotel in Rankin Inlet, NU. The incumbent possesses a pure passion and interest for all aspects of hotel operations and must be approachable, detailed, and goal-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position will work with a small, friendly, team, and will provide leadership to guide and lead the team to deliver quality services with the goal of maximizing the profitability of the hotel. The Hotel Manager is responsible for exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism, while building professional relationships with guests, the community and all EPLS employees.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Management and operation of the Hotel, including check-in and checkout of guests, and providing superior customer service and solutions
- Accurate and timely completion of night audit procedures and provision of reports and other information to head office on a daily basis
- Negotiate and secure long-term and/or group bookings
- Management of the conference services provided by the Hotel, including, ensuring catering services and other requirements are provided as needed
- Management of vehicle rentals
- Hiring, training, and coaching of all staff, and Supervision and monitoring of the housekeeping department
- Manage internal and external condition of the property, including conducting regular walk-through inspections
- Management of room supplies inventory, and ordering of items when necessary to ensure uninterrupted provision of services
- Manage maintenance and repairs to properties as required
- Ongoing analysis of the effectiveness of hotel operations to enhance continuing performance and solving of problems, while maintaining hotel standards and guidelines
- Must be willing to fulfill duties as back-up housekeeper for maintenance and cleaning of the hotels as required
- Other duties as required and assigned.

**Qualifications**
- At least 2 years hands on experience as a Hotel General Manager
- At least 1 to 2 years experience in Sales/Food and Beverage/Rooms in a full-service hotel property
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Hospitality Management an asset
- High School Diploma or GED, Post-Secondary education in a related field is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Good attention to detail, time management with the ability to multi-task, and organizational skills and be an effective problem solver
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and motivate staff to excel and achieve challenging goals
- Previous experience or knowledge of northern living/small community dynamics is required
- Computer literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint), and Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS's)
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude.
- Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a confidential and professional manner
Ability to travel if necessary

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
