The Logistics Supervisor provides corporate technical support for sales department (transportation, documents, and special requests) and negotiates transportation rates (truck, train, boat). This role requires updating of all information pertaining to Canadian, U.S. and international customs, informs all relevant departments and updates government records. The incumbent selects delivery providers (cost, quality and reliability), ensures that they meet the quality standards and provides stability of delivery to customers and Distribution centers. **RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Supervise Logistics Coordinators (2 in Vancouver, 1 in Montreal) ; - Build and map the Supply Chain processes and procedures and build a repertoire of ‘how to’ procedures; - Provide and be a technical source of US customs related information (quotas, tariffs, bonding, etc); - Be a technical source for railcar movements/industry activities, including the use of ‘raillink’ & other rail industry softwares/ tools. - Ensure that the services provided by Transport and Brokers suppliers meet the objectives set out; - Plan and organize all activities related to the delivery of Rail car related goods (evaluation of delivery costs, availability, billing etc.); - Make all transportation-related claims when there is an accident, incident or loss of product in transit; - Process payment invoices of external transport outside storage and of customs brokerage for all deliveries made by Lantic; - Manage the "freight" system by customer and by type of sugar delivered either by truck, by train or by boat; - Ensure that all documents required for the delivery of the merchandise to all are legally compliant; - Prepare & present the annual budget, make monthly follow-ups; - Manage transfer cost budget, freight revenue & expenses for outbound shipments and related reporting & analysis; - Reduce sales complexity for price access; - Support the other Lantic teams including import or export deliveries when international documentation is required; - Manage Lantic CHEP account including quarterly reconciliation, ‘CHEP’ system updates and supervise team members. **QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**: - College diploma in logistics or related majors - Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in the transportation industry; - Experience in the food industry (an asset); - French/English bilingualism (written and spoken) in - order to communicate with our English - and French - speaking sites; - Knowledge of MS Office and and freight related software (raillink, etc); - Good knowledge of international trade and logistics, specifically US related; - Experience with rail industry, movements, transactions in Canada. - Experience in freight forwarding industry - Understanding of accounting, statistics and good analytical skills; - Team spirit and interpersonal skills; - Adaptable, versatile, and able to work under pressure. - Ability to work autonomously - Ability to travel up to 6-10 times per year throughout Canada (sporadically to US) **BENEFITS OVERVIEW**: Benefits packages may depend on geographic location, employee status and position.
