Our client is seeking Operational Auditors within the music industry

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The main responsibility of the Operational Auditor is to conduct independent reviews of the risks within the operations including projects, business processes, licensees, etc. and recommend measures to mitigate those risks to an acceptable level through internal controls, policies and procedures, and best practices.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

External Licensee
- Conduct licensee audits from planning, to designing audit procedures, performing audit fieldwork, drafting _Audit Reports _and _Audit Findings Letters, _preparing assessments of outstanding license fees, and escalating licensee audit disputes to Operational Audit management
- Independently prepare the _Operational Auditor Itinerary _in accordance with the annual _Operational Audit Plan_

Internal Audits and Advisory
- Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews in accordance with IIA guidelines, including planning, designing procedures, performing fieldwork, and drafting _Reports_
- Map and review the business processes to identify design gaps and/or areas of inefficiency, including providing recommendations to address identified gaps and/or inefficiencies

Other
- Provide direct assistance to External Auditors for the interim and year-end financial statement audits, including the timely delivery of audit working papers
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the Management section of the _Pension Document Library_
- Continually update the department’s inventory of policies, procedures and enabling tools to support the effectiveness of the Operational Audit function

**Requirements**:
**WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

Education
- Minimum of a university degree in Business and/or Finance (e.g. Commerce, Accounting, etc.)
- Holds a professional designation and/or certification in related area (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.)

Experience
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in public accounting and/or internal audit, including a minimum of 3-years of assurance experience at a designated accounting firm; preferred

Skillset
- Personal qualities of integrity, ethics, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the Operational Audit department
- Aptitude in exercising sound judgment while making decisions and handling confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- A track record in setting priorities and keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills
- A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Strong understanding of internal controls, accounting principles and financial reporting
- Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and IIA standards
