**Where does the **_Human Resources Generalist_** **fit in?**
The HR Generalist will oversee and support with the daily duties and operations in the company’s HR department. They will assist with various HR related functions including but not limited to championing full-cycle Recruitment, facilitate/support corporate company performance management program, Offer/HR related documentation, new hire onboarding & orientation, Support with policy development, support with employee relations, managing HR programs and supporting with various HR events and initiatives etc.
**What you can expect as our next **_Human Resources Generalist?_**
- Support the HR Assistant to support with all aspects of recruitment and HR Generalist functions
- Champion full-cycle recruitment including: review/drafting of job descriptions, creating and posting jobs, screening resumes, Proactive sourcing strategies, completing phone and in-person interviews, regularly communicating with hiring managers regarding the status of positions, etc.
- Liaise with planning, development and implementation of human resources and labour relations strategy programs and procedures to address the human resource requirements;
- Liaise with disputes, complaints or other issues regarding employee relations and maintain records of meetings, action taken and recommendations - if necessary, assist in investigations
- Assist with HRIS system administration for active staff and update any necessary information into the system accordingly
- Assist in drafting employee contracts and agreements, making sure they adhereto applicable employment laws and standards
- As required, assist with conducting new employee on-boarding by gathering documentation and ensuring accuracy; communicating with managers to support a smooth transition
- Develop better methods on reporting turnover and recruitment metrics on function performance
- Oversee the employee off-boarding procedure including administration, conducting exit interviews, and analyzing and communicating results to management
- Support in researching, developing, implementing & revising policies in a manufacturing setting, adhering to Canadian legislation
- Provide advice and assist employees at all levels in accordance with the company's policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
- Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of compensation and benefit programs
- Oversee the co-ordination of employee performance appraisals - probationary
- and annual;
- Participate in the development and implementation of corporate HR programs including Succession Planning, Career Development Planning, Rewards and Recognition, Employee Satisfaction, and policy review
- Participate in the development and coordination of corporate events and activities
- Promote best practices, share ideas and information to ensure consistency with the company’s processes and procedures
- Support the JHSC at Axiom, calling regular meetings and ensuring all essential Health & Safety precautions, policies & trainings are being adhered to as mandated by Canadian Legislation
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
**Are you our next **_Human Resources Generalist_**?**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related education
- ** Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist **role
- ** CHRP designation or working towards completion is an asset**:
- Hands-on **experience with a Human Resource Information System (Kronos & ADP is an asset)**:
- Hands-on **experience using policy developing tools (Policy Pro Plus is an asset)**:
- Possess **professional knowledge and practical experience of all legislation and legal requirements pertaining to HR functions **(Employment Standards Act & Labour laws, Human Rights and AODA, etc.)
- Tech savvy & proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must;
- Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive and fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership of tasks
- Team player and problem solver, with a positive attitude
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- ** Experience within a manufacturing environment is an asset**
